Former Guinea-Bissau President Umaro Sissoco Embaló arrived in Brazzaville, the capital of the Republic of Congo, on Saturday, according to a source familiar with the situation. His arrival comes only days after the military removed him from office.

After leaving Bissau on a special flight, Embaló first traveled to neighboring Senegal, while military leaders appointed Major-General Horta Inta-a as transitional president on Thursday.
