In a recent interview published Tuesday, President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed that Ukraine is willing to offer territorial concessions to Russia in any future peace talks. He also emphasised that Europe alone cannot support Ukraine’s war effort.
Zelensky is scheduled to meet with U.S. Vice President JD Vance on Friday at the Munich Security Conference, according to the Ukrainian leader’s spokesman. This meeting comes as the U.S. pushes for a resolution to the ongoing war with Russia, which has now been dragging on for nearly three years.
Vance has often criticised the U.S. assistance that has been crucial to Ukraine’s efforts. Zelensky, in his interview with a, rejected the idea that Europe could provide security guarantees without the involvement of the U.S., saying, “Security guarantees without America are not real security guarantees.”
Former President Trump has expressed a desire for both sides to reach an agreement, though the details of such a deal remain a point of concern for Ukraine.
