European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is set to meet with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer next week, as he seeks to reset the relationship between the UK and the European Union.
A spokesperson for the commission confirmed the meeting but did not provide further details. Starmer previously expressed his intentions in a post on social media platform X, stating, “I want to reset our relationship with the EU and make Brexit work for the British people. Looking forward to visiting Brussels next week to start discussions with @VonderLeyen.”
Since taking office in July, Prime Minister Starmer has engaged with several key European leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, to strengthen post-Brexit ties with the EU and its member states.
