Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus Set to Return to Bangladesh as Interim Leader

Nobel Laureate and renowned economist Muhammad Yunus is expected to return to Bangladesh on Thursday, according to Dhaka Tribune. Yunus is scheduled to arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on an Emirates flight from Dubai at 2:10 p.m., pending any delays.
Yunus’s return marks the beginning of his role as the head of the interim government, following a pivotal meeting with President Mohammed Shahabuddin. The official oath-taking ceremony for Yunus is planned for the following day.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Yunus Centre congratulated the students who played a crucial role in the recent political achievements and urged the public to avoid violence. The statement emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and focusing on constructive development.
Yunus Centre expressed pride in the country’s potential and called on citizens to work towards a brighter future. The statement underscored the need for calm and unity, warning against the perils of violence and encouraging everyone to contribute positively to the nation’s progress.
“The brave students who led the way in our Second Victory Day deserve our congratulations, as does the entire populace for their support. Let us capitalize on this victory without allowing it to be undermined by mistakes or violence,” the statement read. “Our youth are poised to lead the creation of a better world. We must avoid senseless violence, which only creates more enemies. Let us stay calm and work together to build a prosperous future for our country.”
