The use of donations and philanthropy to control the media
Ethical journalists act independently
Journalism is facing a well-documented economic crisis, caused by significant declines in circulations and advertising revenue. Financial support from private foundations is often suggested as one of the potential solutions to the failure of conventional commercial business models. According to Media Impact Funders, between 2011 and 2015, foundations awarded grants worth more than $1.3 billion annually to media and journalism around the world. This included $250 million each year to support media development and $220 m to support independent journalistic reporting. Ethics in the media has been — and continues to be — one of the cornerstones of journalism. Why? Well, this is because journalists have the responsibility to remain objective and truthful in their reporting due to their influence over the public. To remain ethical, journalists should decline gifts, favours and any special treatment that they may be offered as this will “compromise integrity or impartiality, or may damage credibility.”
He who pays the piper dictates the tune, and the lamestream media seems to be doing Bill Gates’s bidding. In a pathetic attempt to discredit the Man of God, Rev Dr Chris Oyakhilome, the BBC has been exposed for its bias, misinformation and poor journalism. Bill Gates was not misquoted, he was replayed word for word and the world knows that he is on depopulation agenda. The article tried to portray Pastor as not credible a health expert, which is incorrect. But the university drop out, computer guy is vaccine expert. What a joke. Bill Gates has been funding the media to slant the news, scaremongering for COVID and vaccine acceptance. Is there any wonder why we have lost free press?
Disgraceful Abuse of Taxpayers Cash: What the BBC Uses its Expenditure On
The BBC generates three-quarters of its money by the license fee, a sum fixed by the government of the day. It is imposed like any government tax: that is, on pain of criminal sanction. The World Service was funded for decades by grant-in-aid through the Foreign and Commonwealth Office until 1 April 2014. Since then it has been funded by a mixture of the United Kingdom’s television licence fee, limited advertising profits of BBC Studios, and Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office funding. The BBC/BBC studios, propagate illegitimate content that the public is funding through their TV Tax. Instead, it’s run by the woke, metropolitan elite that does not represent the majority of British people. It’s interested in self-preservation and little else; while failing to inform, educate or entertain. In addition, Ofcom has received criticism for incurring unnecessary costs as a result of “extravagant Thames-side offices” and a “top-heavy salary bill”, for inflexibility in its regulation of commercial radio, and for “poor service”.
Gates Hands Grants to Media to Support His Views
BBC Media Action, formerly known as the BBC World Service Trust, is the BBC’s international development charity, funded independently by external grants and voluntary contributions. The purpose of the organisation is to use media and communication to reduce poverty, improve health and support people in understanding their rights. It works in partnership with the BBC World Service and other local media and development partners in over 35 developing and transitional countries around the world.
