Macron to Meet Zelenskyy, UK and German Leaders in London for Ukraine Talks

French President Emmanuel Macron announced that he will be in London on Monday for meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as well as the leaders of the UK and Germany, to address the war in Ukraine and the talks currently taking place with U.S. involvement.
“Ukraine can count on our unwavering support. That is the whole point of the efforts we have undertaken as part of the Coalition of the Willing,” Macron said on X.
He reiterated that France and the United States will keep working to secure long-term commitments for Ukraine, stressing that lasting peace depends on such guarantees. As he noted, “We will continue these efforts alongside the Americans to provide Ukraine with security guarantees, without which there can be no robust and lasting peace. For what is at stake in Ukraine is also the security of Europe as a whole.”
Macron sharply criticized the overnight attacks on Ukraine, especially those targeting energy and railway systems, saying he condemned them “in the strongest possible terms.”
He also stated, “Russia is locked into an escalatory approach and is not seeking peace … We must continue to put pressure on Russia to force it to make peace.”
According to the International Atomic Energy Agency, widespread military activity overnight disrupted Ukraine’s power network, prompting nuclear facilities to lower their output. The agency also reported that the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant briefly lost all external power during the night, based on information from its Director General, Rafael Mariano Grossi.
