JD Vance Accuses Kamala Harris Of Being The Biggest Threat To Religious Liberty

Senator JD Vance (R-Ohio) labeled Vice President Kamala Harris as “the biggest threat to religious liberty we’ve had in at least a generation” during a campaign event in North Carolina. He accused the Biden administration of being an “opponent” of individual freedoms.
At the “Believers and Ballots” event in Charlotte, Vance outlined several points where he believes Harris has undermined freedom of conscience and religious liberty. He specifically criticized the administration’s COVID-19 vaccine mandates, asserting that their policies led to individuals being fired for refusing the vaccine.
The Biden administration implemented a vaccine mandate for federal workers and sought to impose a vaccine-or-test requirement on private employers with over 100 employees, though the Supreme Court ultimately blocked much of that requirement. Similar mandates were enforced in states like Minnesota.
Vance’s remarks followed recent controversial comments by Donald Trump regarding the potential impact of Jewish voters on the upcoming election. As Vance campaigned in North Carolina, which is seen as crucial for Republican efforts to secure Trump’s return to the White House, he also faced challenges from within the GOP, particularly regarding gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson’s inflammatory past statements.
Current polling shows a tight race in North Carolina, with Trump slightly ahead of Harris at 48.4% to 47.8%.
